This Sony KDL40S2000 40″ Bravia Flat Panel LCD HDTV is a bit disappointing. This unit brigs out a lot of imperfections in DVDs. Unless you get a pure digital signal, this HDTV seems to enhance imperfections in your video source. It’s a good unit but I do not like how it enhances digital artifacts from many DVDs that I watched on it last weekend. Standard cable other than HD looks unacceptable. Perhaps the store was getting a weak signal.

This television is great. The picture is brilliant and the color is
vibrant. It fits perfectly in the space we have for a television.
It is thin and light. Ordering the product through Amazon saved us
several hundred dollars as compared to the lowest cost retailer on sale.

PURCHAESED THE 40″ SONY BRAVIA FROM AMAZON, AND SAVED $350.00, EVEN WITH THE SHIPPING. BEST TOTAL PACKAGE DEAL ANYWHERE, AND I SHOPPED IT! DELIVERY WAS FASTER THAN EXPECTED, AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. TV WAS UNCRATED, PUT IN PLACE, & PACKING MATERIAL DISPOSED OF.
THEN, THERE IS THE NEW SONY PICTURE. THE MOST VIVID, DETAILED, AND “RESONANT” PICTURE I HAVE EVER SEEN, AND THE SOUND IS INCREDIBLE. THE STREAMLINED REMOTE IS A DELIGHT. SEPT 06 CONSUMER REPORTS CALLS IT “MUST SEE TV,” I CALL IT “MUST BE MY TV.” I WANT ANOTHER ONE FOR THE BEDROOM.

This thing is a little pricy, but it looks better than anything else on the market right now. It has a better picture than most plasmas even. I’ve been really enjoying it. The only thing that I didn’t like is that it leaves the words “muted” on the screen when you mute it. This is annoying cuz sometimes I just want to use the audio from my receiver and I have to turn the volume up and down every time instead of being able to just mute it. This is of no consequence though, as this TV looks so good, you forget about its problems.
